I was asked to create the branding and identity for Medly in anticipation of the website launch. It had to be designed in a way that would complement pages with a lot of text and work well with different photography styles and also adapt to videos/animation. With the brand primarily appearing in an online medium, I took the opportunity to work with RGB colours and chose a cobalt as the hero identity hue.
My concept for Medly was based on the idea of ‘a written voice’. To carry this through to the identity, I developed a series of hand gesture icons to serve as the identifiers for the different categories of the site; Travel, Real Talk, Lifestyle, Culture and People, plus a few for sub-categories.
